Frankfurt Fo Guang Youth Presents Heartfelt Gifts for Mother’s Day, Filling the Temple with Warmth

On May 11th, Fo Guang Shan (Fo Guang Shan) in Frankfurt celebrated its annual Mother’s Day. The Frankfurt Fo Guang Shan Youth Group meticulously planned a heartwarming event to offer heartfelt blessings to mothers, with nearly 60 Chinese and German participants.

Youth Group Leader Wang Jingxin and cadre Ma Tianxin recited a simple yet deeply moving poem dedicated to mothers in both Chinese and German: “You don’t say I love you, but you always remember what I like to eat and what I fear,” “Security isn’t a promise, but your constant presence…” These heartfelt words touched the hearts of all the mothers present, many moving to tears.

Wang Jingxin explained that the Fo Guang Shan Youth Group had been diligently preparing for this tribute for weeks. They gathered at the temple over the weekend to meticulously craft and create exquisite mobile phone charms, symbolizing constant companionship and blessings. Each mother also received a magnificent peony and carnation, symbolizing a mother’s love and perseverance, blossoming through the years. The atmosphere was heartwarming, and the mothers’ faces were filled with joy and gratitude.

A special “tea ceremony” was held during the event, where the young people personally presented each mother with a cup of warm tea and sincerely said, “Mom, you’ve worked so hard!” These words of gratitude expressed a thousand words from their hearts, and their words of gratitude transformed into a warm current, nourishing the hearts of each mother. The lingering aroma of tea conveyed not only respect but also the practice and inheritance of the Buddhist spirit of filial piety.

On the day of the event, several mothers of Fo Guang Youth were also present. These mothers, usually reserved, took the initiative to give their children big hugs in this heartwarming moment. These embraces were filled with pride, emotion, and a deep affection that transcended language and culture, a pure exchange of emotions between mother and child.

At the end of the event, led by Venerable Jue Yan, the abbot of Fo Guang Shan in Frankfurt, the entire group sang “Only Mother is Good in the World” and “Lupinus,” bringing the event to a successful close amidst warmth and blessings.

Zhang Yingyan shared that she had thought she might not receive flowers this year, but unexpectedly received such a heartwarming surprise after the group practice. Young people recited poems, presented carnations, and served tea. Even the connection pendants were handmade by the children. Every detail was filled with thoughtfulness, and she deeply felt the warmth and love from the Fo Guang family.
